YARMOUTH POLICE ARREST VERMONT MAN FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

On Friday, July 5, 2013 at 00:07AM Yarmouth Police Officers were dispatched to The Econo Lodge at 59 Route 28 in West Yarmouth for a report of the report of a woman screaming. Yarmouth Police located a man identified as Gregory Willis and subsequently placed him under arrest for attempting to Sexually Assault and Kill a female acquaintance by strangling her and trying to throw her off a second floor balcony. During the attack the subject also attempted to strangle her young son.
Management of the Econlodge was very cooperative and took quick and decisive action to help the investigation.
The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families has been notified and Willis was held overnight at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters on $5,000 cash bail and arraigned in the Barnstable District Court this morning.
